A reminder that everyone needs is, you’re ALLOWED to walk away from anything that doesn’t fulfill you mind, body, and soul.
I went into the purchase of Zions den with sooo much hope and passion for what the brand could be. I was super motivated and ready to kill it in this additional adventure.
Also, if you don’t want to read & would rather listen to me talk about this, Listen today’s episode:
I had the original plan to buy the company myself + built it like I had with Metal Marvels. With the excitement, came the rose colored glasses when I was approached to do it as a partnership. I excitedly said yes thinking it would be easier to have someone else helping.
With partnerships come a whole lot of shit you don’t think about. Having to rely on someone who may not think/act/work like you do. And to be frank, we’re all unique + my work ethic + approach to business is hard to match. I’m fast paced, come in, crush it, and hustle your ass off. I like to implement fast + get things going so the groundwork is laid to then continue the grind over a period of time
Having to rely on another person for big decision, doesn’t work for me. Sort of falls in line with why I decided I no longer wanted to work for someone else. With a partnership, while you’re partners, it still feels like that level of dependency on someone else.
It wasn’t for me. So through all of that, I lost passion for the brand. The products are amazing fucking quality, like so good but I couldn’t go on lending my name + time to a company + brand I could say my heart wasn’t fully in. Some people can totally make partnerships work + thrive in that lane. I am not one of those people.
There comes a time in everything when you know, deep in your soul, that it’s time to walk away. You have to be willing to listen to it. Whether it’s work, relationships, or anything. Over the past 2 months, I had been way more stressed than normal and couldn’t figure out why. It was because I was not aligning with the brand. Which in turn was taking unneeded time away from Metal Marvels.
I needed to do what was best for me, my brand, my company, and my soul. So I left the partnership + the company. It can be scary but don’t be afraid to leave a situation that is not fulfilling you.
